Ministries We Support

Believing that we are to love others in spirit and in truth and spread hope in this hurting, broken world, Laura English Art and Photography is committed to donating 10% of its profits to ministries that are meeting physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs in the countries of Peru and Honduras.

For more information:

"Principio is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving conditions for children and families in third world countries. We are accomplishing this by developing leadership both in the United States and abroad, believing leadership to be the applied ability to educate, motivate, and empower individuals to improve the quality of their lives, mentally, physically, and spiritually."

My friend and college, Melvin Airhart, founded and directs this ministry that is dedicated to altering the lives of Honduran people forever. Not only are they building and establishing schools in rural areas, but they have been creating sustainable, fresh water sources where water-born disease is a common occurrence. As real, physical needs are met, the love of Christ is spread because of this ministry.

"La Roca Christian School is located near Lima, Peru in a suburb called Jose Galvez.  The school opened its doors in 2005 with 20 children attending preschool.  It has added a grade each year and now has over 165 children enrolled (as of April 2012) in preschool through 5th grade."

As a licensed clinical psychologist and associate professor at Southeastern Bible College (Birmingham, AL), I (Laura) have had the opportunity to partner with La Roca Church and Christian School for two weeks at a time in the summers of 2012 and 2013. Juan and Eva Barrientos, missionaries with World Reach, founded and continue to pastor and oversee a growing church and school (which continues to build new structures so as to provide a solid education for children through the high school years). Planted in the outskirts of Lima, Peru, this ministry serves some of the poorest in the area, planting churches in the hills and reaching out to children and parents with the love of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
